The General Information of E-Book Reader
From the beginning of last century, e-products are getting more and more popular. With its rapid development, many traditional things are replaced by them, such as radio, tape recorder, even photo album. Nowadays, almost every would rather use MP3 than a CD player or tape recorder.
In publish field, there is also an “E” revolution. And this revolution contributes to the born of the latest reading tool, the e-book reader. The largest online book seller, Amazon, introduces the newest e-book reader, Kindle, in November of 2007. It was sold out in 5.5 hours. This agitation brought a new fashion in book reading.
In 2008, Amazon published the second version, Kindle 2. It set off a wave of global e-book reading. The sales of Kindle 2 reached to 300,000 in 2009. Meanwhile, the sales of American e-book increased 3 times than that of 2008′s. The popularity of Kindle encouraged Sony, Samsung and other e-products manufacturers get into the e-reading market.
The New Chapter in E-Publishing
Although e-book brings lots of convenient for book readers, it also faces many problems, such as the publish problem. For authors, it is much easier and faster to publish their work through internet, but the kind of publish method is limited by traditional publish method. Since the right of book publishing is mostly controlled by book publisher enterprise instead of authors.
However, Liborid, the brainchild of German author Juergen Neffe, starts a new program to reboot the e-book for the interactive age, offering readers the possibility of potentially limitless content with every publication.
With Neffe’s new product, readers will be no longer afraid that it will suddenly arrive at the end of a good page when they are engrossing in the book. This products works just like MP3 players are using in music industry. That means there will be no ending for e-book readers.
The Future View of E-Book
E-book will bring significant restructuring in modern industry. Paper bookers will be replaced some day. Besides, it will bring devastating impact to pint, copy and other office equipment market if e-book is used in the industry. Newspapers and journals will be no longer published on paper but on electronic media.
But, there are also many disadvantages which will block the development of e-book. Firstly, the price is expensive. Secondly, its book reading function is replaceable. It can be replaced by cell phone. And the later one can download the e-book more conveniently and also can make a phone call. From some extent, buy a cell phone is much worthier than an e-book reader. Thirdly, the copyright problem will limit the publishing of e-book.
